No callbacks planned
Audition Location: Colonial Church, 7039 Mission Road, Prairie Village, KS 66208

SYNOPSIS -- A very artsy, very eccentric British family, the Blisses, have invited a variety of Londoners to spend the weekend at their country home, west of London. The mother Judith has the itch to return to the stage years after her "hay"days thereon. The father David, a writer, is finishing up his latest project "The Sinful Woman" with all the quirky frustrations of a playwright. The children Sorel and Simon are equally itchy as they reflect on the eccentricities of their family existence, each contemplating their unique houseguests for the weekend ahead. A certain pride in the family "abnormalities" is the Bliss hallmark.

THE BARN PLAYERS ANNOUNCE AUDITIONS

“LONG CHRISTMAS RIDE HOME”
by Paula Vogel
directed by Chris McCoy
(A Barn Alternative Series Production)

Audition dates: Saturday, June 2, 1:00pm to 4:00pm.
Audition Location: Colonial Church, 7039 Mission Road, Prairie Village, KS 66208
WHAT TO BRING: Auditioners can bring a prepared monologue or cold readings will be available from the script.
Performances: August 17, 18, 19, 24, 25, 26 at the Barn Players Theater: 6219 Martway, Mission, KS

A Japanese-style play with puppets, Long Christmas Ride Home is a Christmas story as only Paula Vogel can tell. A family of five takes a car ride to their grandparents’ home where Christmas rituals go awry. Driving back, the father loses control of the car and the symbolic crash thrusts the children into the future to see how each of them is going to die. Humorous and heart-wrenching, this beautifully written play by the Pulitzer Prize-winning author of How I Learned to Drive proves that magic can be found in the simplest breaths of life.

Men Needed for Lafferty's Wake

Submitted by Andy on Tue, 2007-05-08 12:49.

I got this from Diane Bulan this morning. ATS actor Linda Levin is in this one -- I believe she's playing the widow Lafferty! AG

The production of Lafferty’s Wake at Just Off Broadway is in need of one, possibly two males to round out its cast. Especially needed is a guy to play the ghost of Lafferty. It sounds like a fun semi-interactive play, sort of like “Tony ‘n’ Tina’s Wedding,” only at an Irish wake at a pub. Show runs May 31 - June 9. More info here:
