06/29/09 SEAN PRATT PRESENTS HIS WEEKLY ARTICLE ON THE BUSINESS OF THE BIZ

The Actor’s Business Card–What it is and Why You Need One

Unlike the traditional business card, the actor’s business card is unique in its design, style and uses.

So in your quest to gain legitimacy, you’ve decide it’s time to get some business cards printed up…this being one of the badges of the professional actor. At your local Kinko’s or Staples, you can choose from a dizzying array of colors, fonts and styles, each designed to allow you to create that one-of-a-kind card. You put your name, cell number and email on it, and if you’re feeling extra special you might add the title Actor or Performer to it. But this calling card you’ve created is based on the mistaken idea that it should mimic the business card of the real estate agent, the attorney or the car salesman. It doesn’t and it shouldn’t.

Desperate Times-Desperate Measures

Submitted by Andy on Mon, 2009-06-01 23:22.

This is the play that I'm in -- I play a drug cartel hit man that's been saved by Jesus, but still has a little "business" to take care of. It's very R-rated, so leave the kids at home. But be prepared to laugh and be shocked, outraged and otherwise entertained! We've got a great cast -- Tom Moriarity, Dean Vivian, Pete Weber, Nathaneal Card, Melissa McGuiness, Ric Averil and ATS Actor Jeff East, who plays my big brother! Written by Ron Simonian and Co-Directed by Ron and the Rep's Kyle Hatley.
