Set in Los Angeles during the 1940s, the Tony award-winning City of Angels is a film noir-style production that is actually two musicals in one — the story of the hard-boiled, streetwise private detective Stone and the story of Stine, his novelist/creator who is busy adapting one of his novels for the silver screen. The original book is by Larry Gelbart with music by Cy Coleman and lyrics by David Zippel.
