WONDER OF THE WORLD is a dark comedy that includes a helicopter chase, a recreation of The Newlywed Game, gunplay, and a barrel ride over Niagara Falls. Seven strong actors are needed (four women, three men) who can deftly handle comedy, and are willing to be challenged with an experimental, non-literal production concept.

CHARACTER BREAKDOWN
MULTI-TASKING ACTRESS: Hardest role in the show (I think), originated by Amy Sedaris in the off-Broadway production. You play six characters (three of them in one scene alone), all of which require an actress willing to bravely be completely whack, playing with voices and accents (and rewarded with the opportunity to steal scenes).

CASS HARRIS: Anxious to start a new life. I'm looking for someone in her 30s or 40s who is young of spirit and a little glamorous. (This role was played by Sarah Jessica Parker in the off-Broadway production in 2001, if that gives you an idea.)

KIP HARRIS: Her husband, 30s or 40s. This guy is Mr. Right who turned out really wrong because he's got a weird sexual fetish. (If you're not willing to go there, this isn't the role for you.)

LOIS COLEMAN: "An alcoholic with a barrel." 30s or 40s. Dead-pan, weird, capable of playing drunk without "playing drunk."

KARLA: Retired and desperate. 40s, 50s, 60s or older...just depends on the actress and the guy playing her husband...

GLEN: Her husband. 50s or older. Also retired and desperate. He and Karla will do just about anything to make a buck. Both of them eccentric.

CAPTAIN MIKE: A non-traditional romantic foil, he's captain of a Niagara Falls tourist boat who's struggling with the tragic (albeit comical) death of his wife. 30s or 40s.
