OCTA Announces Auditions for "110 in the Shade" Written by N. Richard Nash Directed by Eric Magnus GENERAL AUDITIONS Auditioners should prepare 16-32 bars of a Broadway showtune in the style of the show. Accompanist will be provided. Once auditioners have sung, they are free to leave. Picture and resume preferred. CALLBACKS Those invited to callbacks will be asked to prepare a song from the show, and will be given character sides from the show to read. LOCATION PRODUCTION DATES Sunday matinee begins at 2:00 PM and all other shows begin at 8:00 PM. Rehearsals begin Jan 25th. SYNOPSIS Fresh from its triumphant Broadway revival…the musical version of “The Rainmaker.” Based on Nash’s 1954 play "The Rainmaker", "110 In The Shade" tells the story of Lizzie Curry and family, who are trying to survive a paralyzing drought in the West...a drought of rain, love, and life. Worried as much about Lizzie becoming an old maid as the dying cattle, Lizzie’s father and brothers try every possible scheme to marry her off to the cautious local divorceé and sheriff.
