In a world where multi-tasking is a necessity, it's too easy to get scattered and let our performance level drop. So here at the Actor Training Studio, each actor's concentration is developed through scenes, exercises and homework assigned specifically to that actor. The formula? Acting class leads to better concentration skills, which lead to better performance -- under the lights and in life. What can your better performance lead to?
As if understanding the concepts of self-promotion weren’t hard enough, actors have at least three additional problems to surmount.
From the time we're very small, we're taught that emotions can make us lose control of ourselves and our behavior. Unfortunately, the message we often hear is that if our behavior is unacceptable, the emotions that cause that behavior are unacceptable as well. And so we often suppress our emotional life to the point that we lose touch with it and its richness.
Got this from Chris Blunk yesterday... AG
Hi Andy,
I've got a notice for actors in the area looking to have some fun this weekend:
ATS actors are asked to flex their muscles-of-imagination in every single class -- it's the essence of dramatic storytelling. It's easy to understand why the imagination is important to actors -- they have to "make-believe" with relationships and circumstances, environments and what that all means to their characters. But what if you could imagine a new way to increase your sales, or to manage your staff more efficiently?
Designing and creating an eye-catching and informative e-newsletter can offer actors a great way to market their image and advertise what they’re up to.
In this digital age, the possibility of reaching thousands of industry professionals, fans and friends has never been easier. Though it requires some effort to create and maintain, having an e-newsletter holds the possibility of getting an enormous amount of bang for your advertising buck. Here are some do’s and don’ts, as well as some great examples, of this new medium and its great potential.
